Where it started
Established by the Brown family in 1977, we were joined by our daughter Cristina Marrone in 1999, whose natural flair for fabric design and impeccable attention to detail helped elevate Covertex and the Cristina Marrone brand to a new level.
Cristina Marrone is now a well-known West Essex-based designer and purveyor of premium, designer contract fabrics to commercial sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, leisure, education and corporate environments.

Green FR: A sustainable approach to flame-retardant treatment
We are proud to be able to incorporate GreenFR® treatment into our processes. This is an innovative and exclusive flame-retardant (FR) coating suitable for all fabric types which offers a safe and efficient flame-retardant solution that is both sustainable and eco-friendly.
Traditionally, halogen-free flame retardant treatments have been limited to cotton or cotton-rich fabrics. GreenFR® has changed the game by making this treatment available for all fully synthetic fabrics, ensuring the highest safety standards across our entire collection.
In our commitment to greener and more sustainable production, GreenFR® maintains uncompromising safety standards. Each collection specifies its flame retardancy level, with many meeting the stringent Crib 5 standard. It's worth noting that even fabrics treated against Cig + Match can be further enhanced to meet Crib 5 standards, ensuring the utmost safety for homes and businesses.
